* **How to work efficiently with layers**. Every tool works only in layers, so you need to understand how to work efficiently with layers. Photoshop makes layer-by-layer editing a lot easier than photoshop-esque older programs, but working in layers means losing some of the power of previous programs.

How to start emacs on windows and "find" text inside the buffer?

When I get a new python file, I do C-x C-f. to navigate to the top of the file, then I run C-c C-v to find the "run" in the buffer. How can I do that from emacs in Windows? I mean do a "find" from the command line?

A:

You could use the following in a shell (cmd.exe for example):
findstr /g:^run "pythonfile"

g is the global option, and it will search for runs of lines starting with "run" anywhere within the buffer. If you want only the first run, use f.
If you are using emacs, you can get the buffer contents like this:
findstr /n /c:"run" pythonfile

or even like this, if you want to be more consistent:
findstr /c:"run" pythonfile

Dothan sounds awesome. I lived there for about four years for college and loved it. Not sure if we will try to save up enough to go back but you may be in for an adventure. I would recommend walking around and looking at the antique stores in downtown. Many of them have been abandoned and are in phenomenal condition but you will have to do it on your own. And if you have time I would highly recommend the local aquarium. I always enjoyed seeing all the different fish that live there. I think there are also some local nature preserves too.

Q:

Can't access AWS S3 from anywhere

I've used S3 before and it worked fine. But I seem to have run into a problem. It seems all my folders are inaccessible from any other computer on the internet except my own. No other things have this problem though.
I tried the following to no avail:

Created an IAM user to access S3
Turn off the firewall
Confirmed S3 is set to public
Tried changing the bucket to a different domain name

None of them worked. All the folders in this bucket are inaccessible. I have tried with different computers but with no luck. S3 is working fine for me. I even tried to delete the bucket and re-create it to check if that would fix anything. It made no difference, however.
There are no other AWS services that seem to be blocked, just S3. Any idea what might be going on here?

The issue was with the firewall, which was set to something really low. I had to bump it up a bit to be able to access S3 again.
I'm not sure if the firewall was the only issue, but it was definitely the problem.

A Penn State-based team investigating the case of Edwardo Pinheiro Jr. will recommend that he be charged with sexual assault, according to a new report.

Members of the team, which includes members of the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office, are making the recommendation to the county's county solicitor's office, which will in turn charge Pinheiro, a 26-year-old for-profit school graduate from Miami, with the lesser-degree offense of indecent assault and also order him to register as a sex offender, according to the report.

The report says Pinheiro, who works for tax preparation firm TaxMaster, was charged with first-degree felony aggravated indecent assault on Wednesday, March 4, after his alleged victim reported in early March that she and Pinheiro had sex on two occasions in November and December.

At the time, law enforcement arrested Pinheiro and charged him with the felony because authorities say the alleged victim met him in a restaurant on U.S. 30, where Pinheiro worked, and that after sex on both occasions, Pinheiro offered to give her a ride home in his pickup.
